Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) is advising customers that this evening’s planned SpaceX Starship Flight 11 launch from Boca Chica, Texas, may temporarily affect one flight in the airline’s schedule.
Cayman Airways flight KX107 from Miami to Grand Cayman, which is scheduled to depart at 8:40pm Miami time, is the only CAL flight expected to be affected, if at all. The SpaceX rocket launch is scheduled for as early as 6:15pm Cayman time (7:15pm Miami time). For safety, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Cuban aviation authorities will impose short-term restrictions over the Gulf of Mexico and the North-Western Caribbean during the rocket’s ascent and recovery phase. These restrictions are expected to remain in effect until about 8:20pm Cayman time (about 9:20pm Miami time). In that case, Cayman Airways flight KX107 from Miami could experience a delay of up to one hour. All other Cayman Airways flights are expected to operate as scheduled.
Cayman Airways continues to coordinate closely with air traffic authorities and will issue updates through www.caymanairways.com, airport information displays, and customer notifications as required.
