Minor damage to CAL aircraft wingtip at TPA

Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) advises that the aircraft operating flight KX200 from Grand Cayman to Tampa on Friday November 28, 2025, made contact with a vehicle on the ramp while it was being guided to its gate by ground crew, including wing walkers, after arriving at Tampa International Airport (TPA).

The incident was uneventful, but resulted in minor wingtip damage, and the aircraft was removed from service. Maintenance crews at TPA are currently carrying out the necessary assessments at this time.

As a result of the aircraft being removed from service, flight KX201 from Tampa to Grand Cayman has been cancelled today. Passengers booked to travel on KX201 are being accommodated on alternate flights to get them to Grand Cayman.

There are also minor delays to a few flights this evening as the airline adjusts aircraft and crew resources. Affected passengers for these delayed flights will receive updates directly from Cayman Airways, and are encouraged to monitor the email account they provided at the time of booking, or the Cayman Airways app where the latest flight information will be posted.

No other scheduled services beyond today are impacted at this time. Should any further changes become necessary, Cayman Airways will contact affected passengers directly with updates.

Cayman Airways sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused and thanks our valued passengers for their patience and understanding. The safety of our passengers, crew, and operations remains our highest priority.
