Cayman Airways Express Twin Otter Lands Safely in Cayman Brac Following Precautionary Diversion

Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) can confirm that a De Havilland Twin Otter aircraft operating flight KX4624 from Grand Cayman (GCM) to Little Cayman (LYB) was diverted to Cayman Brac (CYB) this afternoon as a precautionary measure, following an engine indication issue.

The flight crew followed standard operating procedures and elected to divert to Cayman Brac, where the necessary maintenance support was available. The aircraft landed safely at Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) at approximately 3:40pm, and was met by emergency services as a precaution. The landing and taxi to the gate were uneventful, and the aircraft was temporarily taken out of service upon arrival for inspection.

Cayman Airways commends the flight crew for their professionalism and swift response in managing the situation. Passengers were assisted upon arrival and re-accommodated as needed. Another Twin Otter aircraft from the Express fleet was dispatched to ensure the completion of the day’s remaining schedule.
