Cayman Airways to conduct B737-8 Operational Readiness Flights in Jamaica

Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) would like to advise the general public in Jamaica that there will be a series of Operational Readiness Flights conducted on February 11 & 12, 2021 with the airline’s two Boeing 737-8 aircraft, which will include runway approaches at the Sangster International Airport (MBJ) between 10:50am and 11:20am, and at the Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) between 11:20am and 11:50am.

Cayman residents can view the take-offs from Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) on Grand Cayman both days, departing around 10am, and returning to ORIA around Noon.

The special flights are part of the airline’s ongoing “Return To Service” plans for its B737-8 fleet, and these approved maneuvers are part of verifying the function of the aircrafts’ advanced instrument landing capabilities, utilizing the Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) available in Montego Bay and Kingston.
