Attendees at the National Gallery’s annual fundraising gala, The Surrealists’ Ball, had the opportunity to win exclusive travel packages including air travel by Cayman’s national airline, Cayman Airways Limited (CAL).
As a Silver Sponsor of the gala, Cayman Airways donated flights to some of the airline’s most popular destinations – Tampa and Miami – which were raffled at the event on November 21, 2014 as part of exclusive “art” travel packages. The packages included trips to the Dali Museum (Tampa) and Miami Art Week. Proceeds from the recent raffle will go towards funding the National Gallery’s arts education programmes for Cayman’s youth. In addition, the airline has donated a third package – to Montego Bay – which will be auctioned at NGCI’s popular fundraising Tea Party in the new year, also held in aid of NGCI education.
“Cayman Airways’ continued commitment to supporting arts and culture in the Cayman Islands directly aligns with our values as a caring and reliable corporate community leader,” said Paul Tibbetts, Cayman Airways CFO and SVP Commercial Affairs. “So we are thrilled to support the National Gallery’s fundraising efforts to provide free educational programmes in the arts for Cayman’s youth and families.”
The evening’s 280 attendees, all dressed in ‘surrealist’ attire, gave generously towards NGCI education programmes. “It was an inspiring evening all round and we are delighted to work with Cayman Airways to create art travel packages to top destinations” said NGCI Director Natalie Urquhart. “Cayman Airways has been a long-term supporter of NGCI education and community programmes, and we are extremely grateful for their continued support.”
