Cayman Airways Earns IOSA

July 30, 2008

Cayman Airways, the national airline of the Cayman Islands, has successfully completed the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). The airline received the IOSA registration following a stringent audit by IATA-accredited audit organization Morton, Beyer, Agnew of Washington, DC.

The audit covered key areas of Cayman Airways including operations: corporate organization and management structure; flight operations; flight dispatch; aircraft engineering and maintenance; ground handling; cargo operations; and airline security.

Listing on the IOSA Registry means that Cayman Airways is committed to achieving global safety standards and putting them at par with the best airlines in the world.

Chief Executive of Cayman Airways, Patrick Strasburger says, "The IOSA registration is especially meaningful to Cayman Airways and its employees. Safety has always been and will continue to be our top priority. Compliance with IOSA standards and recommended practices builds on our existing system of rigorous safety policies, procedures and processes."

IOSA registration is awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), representing 230 airlines worldwide, to those airlines that have demonstrated conformity with the comprehensive IOSA standards.  IOSA was developed by IATA as the first global, consistent and harmonized industry audit program designed to promote operational safety.

The registration is valid until November 30, 2009, and is renewable thereafter every two years subject to future audits.
